- Born and raised in Spokane, WA. My father moved us to Boise, ID during high school where I spent all my time studying and playing sports in order to attend a prestigious college and become a medical doctor. The hard work paid off, but the realization of my unhappiness led to becoming an Ivy League dropout. After some soul searching I came back to Idaho and graduated as a Civil Engineer. Not yet ready to work and wanting to try life outside of America, I studied for a Masters in Vancouver, BC. There I rekindled my love of skiing (killed by high school basketball) and developed an interest in Asian culture. After finishing school, I moved to Japan where I taught English to college and elementary students as well as studied Japanese. Despite being stuck out in Chiba-ken (千葉県), I tried to get to the mountains wherever possible. Now I'm back in Vancouver and working hard to find a job so I don't have to go back to America.
